LSU Baseball Coach Paul Mainieri reached a milestone last night after the LSU Tigers baseball team went into extra innings beating Mississippi State 5-3 in 14 innings.  It was big for the Tigers to come back to win the game but it also marked the 400th win for LSU Baseball Coach Paul Mainieri.

Coach Mainieri has a career record at LSU of 400-156-3 in nine seasons.   Mainieri is now just second to Skip Bertman, who is the all time winningest coach in LSU history with a record of 870 wins in 18 seasons at the helm for the Tigers.

The Tigers are currently ranked the #1 team in the country with a record of 39-7 and are 15-6 in SEC play.

LSu will stay on the road today and tomorrow and face Mississippi State again tonight at 7pm on ESPNU and tomorrow's game is at 3:00 p.m. and will be televised on ESPN2.
