A tradition has been renewed. The SEC go smart and moved the LSU/Arkansas game back to the Friday after Thanksgiving.  The past couple years the game has been played on the Saturday after Thanksgiving but, no more!!!

LSU's season-finale against Arkansas will be played the day after Thanksgiving for the next two years, the Southeastern Conference announced on Tuesday.

The Tigers and the Hogs will play on Friday, Nov. 25, 2011 in Tiger Stadium and then again on Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, in Little Rock. Both games will kickoff at 1:30 p.m. CT and will be televised nationally by CBS.

LSU and Arkansas met on the day after Thanksgiving for 13 straight years from 1996 to 2008 before playing on Saturday for the past two seasons. The Tigers and Hogs play annually in the Battle for the Boot, which is a 24-karat gold trophy molded in the shape of Louisiana and Arkansas.

LSU lost the last meeting with Arkansas 24-17 in Little Rock back in November of 2010.  If the Tigers would have won that game, they would have been in the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans against Ohio State. Instead they went to the Cotton Bowl and beat up Texas A&M. With Arkansas winning that game, they qualified for the Sugar Bowl which they ultimately lost to Ohio State.

I am glad to see that the Battle for the Boot has been moved back to its rightful place.  Geaux Tigers!!!!!
