In a effort to keep kids safe while you travel on the roadways and highways, the Louisiana State Police is putting on an event geared toward checking your child safety seats or car seats to make sure they are safe for your kids to ride in your vehicle.

The event will take place at Billy Navarre Honda, 1310 East College Street, Lake Charles from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for children. Louisiana state law requires all vehicle occupants, including children, to be properly restrained in all seating positions day and night.  Many injuries and deaths can be prevented by properly using child safety seats.

On Saturday, September 20th, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the Louisiana Passenger Safety Task Force will hold a free child safety seat event at Billy Navarre Honda, 1310 East College Street, Lake Charles from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Lake Charles.  Nationally certified child passenger safety technicians will be on hand to assist with the proper installation of child safety seats.
