The most important thing you can do as a parent, grandparent or caregiver is to make sure that your child or children are safe when you travel in your vehicle. The proper safety seat is key when transporting kids in your car.

I know that since I am a new grandpa, I am conscious of having the proper car seat for my granddaughter. Do you have the right seat for your baby or toddler?

Well, this Saturday you can find out if you do. The Louisiana State police are holding their annual child safety seat event at Billy Navarre Honda this Saturday, from Noon until 3pm.

Sgt. James Anderson told us,

Nationally certified technicians are ready to conduct seat inspections ensuring the proper installation of your child’s safety seat and providing parents and caregivers with life-saving information regarding the appropriate vehicle installation and best seat for your child’s age, weight, and height.

This is a free event, and the State police will also be handing out a limited amount of booster seats to the public. So go by this Saturday at Billy Navarre Honda on College Street in Lake Charles from noon until 3 pm to make sure you have the proper child restraints for your kiddos.
