BATON ROUGE – With alligator season just around the corner, the Louisiana Lottery Corporation hopes to tag a big one when it launches the $2 scratch-off Choot ‘Em, featuring Louisiana’s favorite swamp-hunting TV stars, Troy and Jacob Landry of Pierre Part. Choot ‘Em will hit Lottery retailers July 11 featuring five different ticket scenes and six top prizes of $12,000.

“I’ve been fishing all my life,” explained Troy Landry. “In second grade my daddy got me my first boat, but the biggest catch I ever had was recently -- when I hooked the Louisiana Lottery!”
"Yeah, that’s a big one!” Jacob joked back. “A real tree-shaker!”
As part of its agreement with the Landrys, the Lottery will print 1.2 million tickets named after the now-trademarked command “Choot ‘em!”, which Troy Landry gives his son and hunting partner Jacob on the hit reality show series, Swamp People. In addition, the Lottery will give away merchandise autographed by the Landrys through a series of promotions on Facebook, Twitter and its online players club, Club Lotteaux.
“We jumped at the opportunity to feature these two Louisiana ‘heroes’ on a scratch-off game,” explained Lottery President Rose Hudson. “We’re always looking for ways our games can showcase a taste of our state’s unique and diverse culture. I think we hit the mark with Choot ‘Em. Certainly, Troy and Jacob are part of a reality-show phenomenon, and it’s one we can all identify with because they feel like neighbors!”
To celebrate the launch of Choot ‘Em, the Landrys will make a special appearance at Bass Pro Shops in Denham Springs on Saturday, July 16 from noon until 4 p.m. The pair will greet fans and sign autographs. The Lottery’s Choot ‘Em scratch-offs will also be available for sale, and customers purchasing all five scenes will receive a sample ticket to be autographed plus a free audio keychain featuring the voice of Troy Landry and his iconic phrase, “Choot ‘Em!”
The Landrys aren’t strangers to the Lottery; Troy’s father owns a convenience store in Pierre Part that has been selling Lottery tickets since 1998 along with bait and other supplies for fishermen and crawfishermen.
“Working with the Lottery has been great -- an honor and a privilege,” said Troy. "My family and I are very happy for the opportunity to make a lot of people winners!”
“It’s a dream come true,” added Jacob. “Who would have thought we’d be on a Lottery ticket. It’s the chance of a lifetime!”
Details about the scratch-off game and related promotions can be found on the Lottery’s website, www.louisianalottery.com. Lottery ticket purchasers must be at least 21 years of age. If you or someone you know has a gambling problem, help is available by calling 1-877-770-7867. For security purposes, the Lottery encourages players to sign the back of their tickets immediately after purchasing.
