The Louisiana Fur and Wildlife Festival is going on today and goes through tomorrow in Cameron.

The festival is one of the oldest and coldest festivals in Louisiana and is full of fun events, a fairground and live music.

Here is the weekend schedule for the Fur and Wildlife Festival!

 Friday, January 11, 2013

All events will take place on the fairgrounds located at the Pat's of Cameron (same location as 2012) in Downtown Cameron unless otherwise stated.   Ice chests, outside food, and beverages will not be allowed on the fairgrounds.

10:00am--Dog Trials (Henry Property)

12:00pm—Gates open ($5.oo per person children 12 years old and under free)
Trap Shooting Begins
Carnival will open

 6:30pm--Nik-L-Beer takes the stage.

All events will take place on the fairgrounds located at the Pat's of Cameron (across the street from the Cameron Parish School Board) in Downtown Cameron unless otherwise stated.  Ice chests, and outside food or beverages will NOT be allowed on the fairgrounds.

7:00am-Gumbo Cook-Off begins (Only those cooking will be allowed in the gates before 9am.)

9:00am-Gates open ($5.00 per person and children 12 years old and under free)

Carnival Opens
Trap Shooting Begins

10:00am-Muskrat and Nutria Skinning (Stage)
Trap Setting (Stage)
Oyster Shucking (Stage)
Dog Trials (Henry Property)
Gumbo Gator will be visiting until 11:00am

11:30am-Gumbo Cookoff Judging on the Fairgrounds

1:00pm-Parade Begins (will line up at Cameron Construction Yard east of Cameron)

3:00pm-Duck and Goose Calling Competition

3:00pm-Steel Shot takes the stage.
