Lets give it up for Lake Charles own, Morgan Simon!  You go gurl!  We are so very proud of you.  Morgan is the newest member of the professional cheer leading squad for the Houston Texans.  What an accomplishment!

The daughter of Thomas (Nakita) Simon and Marzetta (Rico) Guillory, Morgan is a 2011 graduate of LaGrange High School.  From the very beginning of her journey Morgan was an excellent student, and her senior year she was crowned homecoming queen.  She was also a phenomenal student athlete, being a member of the Gator cheer leading and track teams. Morgan's dedication to her education, athletic skill and hard work paid off and earned her a full track scholarship to Grambling State University.

While there she continued to excel in sports and graduated at the top of her class with a degree in Kinesiology/ Recreational Therapy.  One of Morgan's life goals was to one day become a professional cheerleader.   She followed her dream moving to Houston, Texas. When the opportunity came up to try-out for 2016 Houston Texans Cheer Leading Squad, Morgan took a page from Steve Harvey's book and "jumped" at the chance.

Morgan didn't play it safe and to her great surprise, her parachute was working!  Using faith and determination as her guide, Morgan achieved her life's goal and was recently awarded a position on the elite NFL cheer leading team. It's official, she's a Houston Texans Cheerleader!  We join her family and friends in congratulating her on all that she's accomplished.  Click here and watch as the 2016 Houston Texans Cheer Leading Squad is announced one, by one.

As Morgan waits to strut her stuff during the Texans 2016/2017 football season, she's keeping herself busy working in her field.  The sky is the limit and Morgan is showing no signs of slowing down.  Between work and cheer practice, she is currently studying to receive her Masters degree in Occupational Therapy.  Given her history, there's no doubt Morgan will complete this task with great success as well.

Go get em Morgan!  I know you will represent the Southwest Louisiana and the City of Lake Charles well.
