Kids College at McNeese State University - McNeese Leisure Learning for students entering grades 1-8.  Enroll your child by the week or the entire summer, beginning May 23 through August 5.  This camp is run by MSU professors/instructors and offers field trips centered around the weekly courses such as inventions, engineering, art, conservation, Louisiana culture and much more.  Campers will also enjoy plenty of games and lots of swimming in the campus pool.  This is an all-day camp open 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, taking place on the campus of McNeese State University. Sylvan Learning Center Camps For Summer Break - Located at 129 W. College Street in Lake Charles, take your child's learning to the next level at the Sylvan Learning Center summer camps.  These camps are to engage, entertain and most of all keep your child interested in learning.  Sylvan is offering a variety of summer programs from engineering technology and robotics to coding, reading readiness, writing, even teaching kids a fun way to stay focused on math.  This camp has it all, including a ACT Prep program. Camp Invention - Make your child's summer extraordinary!  This camp takes place at Dolby Elementary School, located at 817 Jefferson Drive in Lake Charles.  From exploring the lives of giant insects, building prototypes for everyday devices, to constructing solar units and discovering electronic sound and more.  Your kids will have a ball learning creative problem-solving, innovation and the importance of teamwork.  Camp Invention takes place June 6 -10, led by local educators and open to kids entering 1st - 6th grade. Mathnasium Summer Program - This is a camp specifically designed to help your child catch up or get ahead in math. Mathnasium summer programs are aimed at preventing summer learning loss, and will give your child a strong foundation in math. Campers will develop the confidence and skills needed to succeed in their upcoming school year in elementary, middle or high school.  Offering customized learning according to each students needs these programs are led by specially trained instructors, who work with each student to ensure they master the material. Literacy Council Summer Enrichment Program - The Literacy Council of Southwest Louisiana is now excepting applications for their 2016 summer enrichment.  These classes are being offered to children entering grades 1 - 6th.
