Gator 99.5 has confirmed that a local Lake Charles theatre will close it's doors this Sunday, April 26th, 2015 forever.

The United Artist Cinema stadium 10 on Derek Drive in Lake Charles is shutting their doors.  Gator 99.5 spoke with Christine White who is the Marketing Manager for Regal Entertainment Group and she confirmed the closing of the Lake Charles location.

White said in a statement:

We truly appreciate the loyal patronage at United Artists Lake Charles Stadium 10 over the years. Our staff has worked to provide a quality entertainment venue and serve our patrons well. During periodic reviews of our locations, this theatre was identified as an under-performing location. Since the economic realities were not positive, this theatre was targeted for closure. Sunday will be our last day of operation.

No official word on what the stadium 10 will become but we have heard rumors that Cinemark in Lake Charles might take it over.  We have not confirmed those rumors however.  For now it looks like their will be only one place to go to the movies in Lake Charles will be at the Prien Lake Mall at Cinemark.
