I threw this video together of the 2016 LAMG Run. Remember there was some Michelob ULTRA being consumed when i was flying this thing..... HAHAHA.... Watch it in HD for the best Quality.

Drones. I tell ya, I can't get enough of them. Well, at least when they're taking cool video like this.

So it was pretty cool when I found this video taking off in my Facebook feed. Joe Abshire of Lake Arthur flew his DJI Phantom 2 Vision+ over his hometown's 2016 Mardi Gras run. He slapped some good Cajun music behind it and let it roll.

So yeah, there's a lot of cool aerial shots of Lake Arthur, but you actually get to see a live chicken chase. You can see floats lined up for a parade. You can see the amazing costumes they use in the country Mardi Gras celebrations. When I saw this, I thought to myself, I bet I can make a dozen of my friends outside Louisiana immediately homesick.

Because, at heart, it's not just a video of some cool Mardi Gras stuff. This is Southwest Louisiana at its best and most lighthearted. This is tradition. And also, footage of some pretty smart chickens. (At one point, one smart hen makes a dash to hide under an SUV.)

Happy Mardi Gras, everyone!
