Jennings Child Safety Seat Inspection

It's a very busy time of the year and your kids are spending a lot of time in their car seats. This would be a great time to have your child's seat inspected (free) and make sure your kids are being transported safely You would be surprised how many child car seats are incorrectly installed. It is estimated that at least 3 out of 4 child restraint systems are being misused.

This Saturday the Louisiana Passenger Safety Task Force will provide free child passenger safety seat checks in Jennings.  These checks will be conducted by child passenger safety technicians who will provide hands-on child safety seat inspections and answer questions at no charge.

Bring your safety seat  to the Jefferson Davis Parish Fairgrounds (located on South Lake Arthur Avenue near Scott Street) from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  Seats will be checked in the covered arena area which will allow the event to take place regardless of weather conditions.

Child safety seats and booster seats save lives.  They offer the best protection for children in the event of a crash.  During the past 30 years, approximately 8,959 lives have been saved by the use of child restraints according to the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
