So over the weekend I had this bright idea to redo an area in my backyard which frankly was an eye sore anyway.  It was an area with roots, grass, leaves and dirt as you will see in the picture below.

Well what I have been doing is looking up landscaping and backyard improvement ideas and thought this should be easy.  Little did I know what I was about to get myself into!

Here is what I started with!

As you can see from the pictures above, it was an eye sore.  I kind of wanted to purty LOL it up and make the area easier on the eyes.  So what I decided to do i build a fire pit and then just put some rocks around it.

Well after I cleaned up the area by raking the leaves, digging up that green plant in the picture and getting the ground leveled, I went and bought some fire stone bricks and weed guard and laid it down.  Then I thought maybe I will put down a few stones too.  This is where I got before I realized I didn't have enough of any of the materials I needed to complete this project!

Of Course when I realized this, I was not happy.  So off to the home improvement stores I went!  Well long story short, 6 1/2 hours later and 25 bags of rocks, sand and more stones, this is how it came out!

Not to bad huh?  I was pretty impressed with myself. I have never done anything like this and for those of you who know me, you know I don't have skills like this at all!  Of Course with a little muscle, help from a couple of buddies and Cajun engineering, I have a brand new space to enjoy.

Just thought I would share with you guys and gals!
