Great American Race “The Daytona 500″ Today

Get ready Nascar fans because today is the day!  Today marks not only the start of the 2015 Nascar season but also the biggest race of the season.  The Daytona 500 which is like Nascar's version of the Superbowl!

Forty three drivers will line up side by side and go 200 mph for 200 laps and will be just inches away from each other.

Last years Daytona 500 champion Dale Earnhardt Jr. and 6 time Nascar Champion Jimmie Johnson swept the Budweiser Duel races Thursday night.  Jeff Gordon won the pole during qualifying so now the top three in the field are all Hendrick motor sports teams mates.  Jeff Gordon is on the pole while Jimmie Johnson will start second and Junior 3rd.

The green flag will drop at Noon today for the Great American Race and will be televised on FOX television.
