Cajun music star Ganey Arsemont has released his new CD called "Le Forgeron".

The CD has nine original songs in both English and Cajun French as well as some covers of popular Cajun songs. Here are the details on his new record.

Salty Bayou Music is proud to announce the long awaited solo release of local musical artist, Ganey Arsement. Funded partially by the Louisiana Division of the Arts, the CD represents the natural progression of Ganey’s musical career which spans twenty years. The CD contains nine original songs in both French and English and five covers of popular Cajun and American Folk standards. Also included is Andrew Doucet’s original recording of Le two step du forgeron. Doucet is Ganey’s great-grandfather, and the opening song of the CD is Ganey’s version of his great-grandfather’s song.

Joining Ganey on the CD are the other two members of the original LakeSide Gamblers, Clint Ward, Mitch Simon and the newest member, Vic Simon. In addition, some of the lake area’s finest musicians also contributed their talents including, Chris Miller, Camryn Miller, Taylor Clements, Mark Robertson and Jay Ecker.
