Cajun music star Ganey Arsemont will be live with me this morning in the studio and we will be talking to him and playing songs from his new solo CD that is coming out called "Le Forgeron".

The CD has nine original songs in both English and Cajun French as well as some covers of popular Cajun songs.  Here are the details on his new record.

Salty Bayou Music is proud to announce the long awaited solo release of local musical artist, Ganey Arsement. Funded partially by the Louisiana Division of the Arts, the CD represents the natural progression of Ganey’s musical career which spans twenty years. The CD contains nine original songs in both French and English and five covers of popular Cajun and American Folk standards. Also included is Andrew Doucet’s original recording of Le two step du forgeron. Doucet is Ganey’s great-grandfather, and the opening song of the CD is Ganey’s version of his great-grandfather’s song.
