The Louisiana State Police Troop D and the Louisiana Passenger Safety Task Force will give free child passenger safety seat checks on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Billy Navarre Honda (1310 East College Street, Lake Charles) from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Certified child passenger safety technicians will be on hand to properly inspect seats to be sure they are installed correctly and that the child is" in an age and weight appropriate child restraint.” The event is provided by the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission, so it's free of charge.

Child safety seats and booster seats save lives. They offer the best protection for children in the event of a crash. During the past 30 years, nearly 9,000 lives have been  saved by the use of child restraints according to the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). It is important that caregivers ensure children are properly restrained in an appropriate child safety seat, booster seat, or seat belt—every trip, every time. - LSP Press Release
