Three Lake Charles residents and one Crowley resident are behind bars after police found them forging and cashing checks at numerous local businesses. Together, they allegedly scored over $13,000.

Lake Charles Police Deputy Chief Mark Kraus said the four were arrested after a two-week investigation into the payroll check cashing scheme.

Arrested were (starting clockwise from upper left corner in picture above):

  • Cullen Nycole Domino, 45, of Crowley -- charged with issuing worthless checks, bank fraud and forgery. Bond was set at $50,000.
  • Demetria Evette Ned, 42, of Lake Charles -- charged with bank fraud and forgery. Bond was set at $15,000.
  • Melva Ann Domino, 53, of Lake Charles -- charged with issuing worthless checks, bank fraud and forgery. Bond was set at $15,000.
  • Valerie Carrier, 55, of Lake Charles -- charged with issuing worthless checks, bank fraud and forgery. Bond was set at $15,000.

All four subjects have been arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center.
