Just one year after being drafted second overall by the Houston Astros in the 2015 Major League Baseball draft, former LSU shortstop Alex Bregman is going to the big show.

Sunday afternoon the Houston Astros decided to call up Bregman to the major leagues to play with the big team.  Alex was playing for the the Astros triple A minor league team Fresno until yesterday.

While playing in the minor's, Bregman was hitting .333 with six home runs and 15 RBIs in 18 games.  Bregman will most likely play either third base or left field tonight when making his major league debut.

The Houston Astros are the hottest team in baseball.  They have won 37 of their last 53 games and are sitting just 2 1/2 games out of first place in the American Leagues West standings trailing right behind in-state rival the Texas Rangers.

Alex Bregman will make his major league baseball debut in Houston tonight as the Astros take on the New York Yankees at Minute Maid Park tonight.  The game will start at 7:10 p.m.
