First it was the rise to fame on the hit reality show "Duck Dynasty".  As the Duck Commander brand of duck calls were vaulted in the for front of the show, the sales rose.  Now the Robertson family who own Duck Commander and star in the show are starting to branch out and sponsoring major sporting events.

Back on February 6th, we broke the news that the Robertson’s clan was entering into a sponsorship with Nascar and Texas Motor Speedway to sponsor one of the Races at Texas Motor Speedway.

Texas Motor Speedway announced back in early February that a multi-year title sponsorship agreement for its spring race with Duck Commander had been struck.
Now, the Duck Commander brand has branched out even further and will be the title sponsor of the Independence Bowl in Shreveport, La.
The news trickled in late last week: So long AdvoCare V100 Independence Bowl, hello Duck Commander Independence Bowl. Those Duck Dynasty guys (one of whom, Phil Robertson, has roots in college football) went and sponsored a bowl game, and the name (and six-year deal) became official on Wednesday afternoon.
So it looks like they are not just funny folks on a TV show making duck calls anymore.  They are becoming some big players in the world of business and branding.
