The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's office along with the Louisiana State Police are partnering up with the local Special Olympics chapter to host the polar plunge L'auberge Casino Resort in Lake Charles.

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office along with the Louisiana State Police Troop D will host the 2014 Special Olympics Polar Plunge on Saturday, February 15 starting at 9:00a.m. at Touloulou’s Beach at L’Auberge Casino located at 777 Avenue L’Auberge in Lake Charles.

Everyone is invited to come and take the plunge for a minimum of $50.  Students and children of all ages are encouraged to participate.  Food and refreshments will be provided for all participants at no cost.

The funds raised at this event help provide year-round programs for 13,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities in Louisiana.  The programs include health, education, leadership, family, training and sports for people beginning at age 2.
