McNeese State will host Central Arkansas in a three game Southland Conference series beginning Friday.

First pitch on Friday will be at 6:30 p.m. as the Cowboys attempt to snap a four game losing skid. All action can be listened to over 1470-AM and 1290-AM.

McNeese is now 13-13 overall and 4-5 in league play.

Central Arkansas comes into the series at 12-14 overall and 3-6 in league play. The Bears lost to Ark-Little Rock on Wednesday after sweeping two of three league games with Southeastern Louisiana.

McNeese was tagged with its first shutout loss of the season in its last outing, LSU posting a 6-0 victory in Baton Rouge on Wednesday.

In fact, that's the first shutout of a Terry Burrows coached team since LSU posted an identical 6-0 win in the 2008 season.

The Cowboys will go into the series with a .287 team batting average and with Seth Granger leading the way with a .389 mark. Jace Peterson is hitting .352 and is on a 12 game hitting streak while Lee Orr and Renny Weber are batting .333 and Shea Daly is hitting .323.

Granger, on a seven game hitting streak, leads the team in RBIs with 29 while Peterson is tops in runs scored (35) and in stolen bases (17).

Zach Butler (3-1, 5.15 ERA) is expected to be on the mound for Friday's game with Matt Click (2-2, 3.76 ERA) set for Saturday and probably Dustin Lloyd (2-2, 5.33 ERA) on Sunday. The Cowboys have one of the top closers in the conference in Jordan LeGros who is 1-1 with a 0.59 ERA. He has struckout 23 batters in 15.1 innings and has seven saves.
