City Will ‘Light Up the Lake’ for Christmas December 1 — Get the Full Schedule of Events and Parade Route

The City of Lake Charles is ready to bring Christmas cheer to the lakefront on Dec. 1 when the "Light Up The Lake" celebration will sail into town.  The best part -- the whole thing is FREE.

There will be Christmas cheer to spare as events begin at 2 p.m. and roll late into the evening. A street parade, live music of all kinds, food, kids' activities and much more are scheduled.

But what makes the event unique is the awesome boat parade, in which participants literally ... light up the lake.  It's free to be a part of both events, though especially with the boat parade, there are some rules.
