The City of Lake Charles is getting ready to light up the lakefront on December 6th and they have now announced the schedule of event.

Denise Fasske says:

Beginning at 1 p.m. local groups will join Santa for the annual parade which will begin from Mill Street then turn south on Ryan street and conclude at 7th Street. Following the parade everyone is invited to the Lake Charles Civic Center for the festivities. Santa's Workshop will take place from 2-5 p.m. with tiny tots in the Exhibition Hall and ages 6-12 in the Coliseum.

The Community Band Christmas Concert will begin at 3:30 p.m. in the Civic Center second floor Mezzanine.

Then people are invited to gather around the front lawn at 5:00 p.m. for the lighting ceremony with entertainment including the Barbe Show Choir. Parade grand marshal Carter Sarro will assist Mayor Roach with flipping the switch at 6:00 p.m. to light up the many brilliant ornaments positioned at the Civic Center entrance.

Then the  lighted boat parade will begin at 6:30 p.m.
