So you are eating crawfish as a part of your memorial Day celebration. That sounds great and is great fun until you have to dispose of the shells. You don't want those things sitting in your trash can very long. Here is the holiday garbage pick up schedule and more from the City of Lake Charles.

According to a press release from the city Lake Charles will observe the Memorial Day Holiday on Monday, May 26. There will be no trash or garbage collection on that day. Trash and garbage normally picked up on Monday will be rescheduled for pickup on Tuesday, May 27.

Trash and garbage normally picked up on Tuesday will be rescheduled for pickup on Wednesday, May 28. Thursday and Friday routes will remain on their regular schedules.

All recycling stations, including the Team Green recycling truck and the incinerator will not be open on Monday, May 26.

They will resume regular operations on Tuesday, May 27. All other services of the Department of Public Works and other City departments will also be closed on Monday, May 26 in observance of this Holiday but will resume regular working hours on Tuesday, May 27.
