Zydeco's like any other art form -- it didn't just pop out of thin air.  It's built on centuries of tradition while at the same time constantly evolving with each generation.  Today's Zydeco isn't all that different what Clifton Chenier popularized in the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s, but at the same time, it's light-years different.  And that's what makes it so beautiful -- a combination of old and new.  Find out why the accordion is so important to Zydeco, and find out how the modern version of the music grew out of a handful of snap beans.
