It's the holiday season which means people all over Southwest Louisiana are putting up their Christmas lights. The City of Lake Charles and the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury are also getting in the act.

We reported to you guys earlier this week that the City Of Lake Charles has decided to make their "Light Up the Lake" festival now a two day festival with Fireworks and the lighting of the lights happening on Sunday.

Now the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury has announced that they will hold a lighting ceremony for the inaugural lighting of the Historic Calcasieu Parish Courthouse.

Tom Hoefer with the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury released this about the event:

Representatives of the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury will host a lighting ceremony for the inaugural lighting of the Historic Calcasieu Parish Courthouse. Join us for the ceremony, Friday, December 4th. Photos with Mr. and Mrs. Clause will begin at 3pm, followed by the lighting ceremony at 4:45pm on the courthouse lawn located at 1001 Ryan Street, Lake Charles, LA.

Free popcorn, cokes and hot chocolate will be available on site.

So make plans to enjoy a great event and it's free and great for the whole family.
