Child Collapses at Local Elementary School, Dies

According to KPLCTV.com, a child collapsed at a local school during “Fun Day events,” and later died at a local hospital.

The incident happened Thursday morning, May 19, at T.S. Cooley Elementary School. "The child was immediately attended to by school personnel including nurses. A 911 call was placed, and the student was transported by ambulance to Lake Charles Memorial Hospital where the student later passed away,” said a spokeswoman with the Calcasieu Parish School Board.
