The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office law enforcement training academy is getting ready to graduate their 106th class. The ceremony will be today, November 7th at 10:30 a.m. in the Contraband Room on the 2nd floor at the Lake Charles Civic Center.

The CPSO's training facility not only trains their Deputies but deputies and police officers from other cities from a five parish area.

Wow 106 classes. Some of you may know this but some may not. I was a Deputy with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's office for 10 years and I am a proud member of the 61st basic graduating class. I graduated in June 1997.

Here is when and where the event will take place.

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office Training Academy will hold its 106th Basic Law Enforcement Graduation Ceremony Thursday, November 7 at 10:30 a.m. in the Contraband Room on the 2nd floor at the Lake Charles Civic Center.

Thirty-three (33) cadets representing Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office, Cameron Parish Sheriff’s Office, DeRidder Police Department, Eunice Police Department, Jeff Davis Sheriff’s Office, Louisiana State Police, McNeese State University Police Department, Oakdale Police Department, Sulphur Police Department, Rayne Police Department, and Westlake Police Department have participated in this graduating class.

The CPSO Training Academy trains all law enforcement agencies in Calcasieu, Cameron, Beauregard, Allen and Jeff Davis Parishes.
