Calcasieu Parish OEP Prepares for Ebola Just in Case
The Calcasieu Parish Office Of Emergency Preparedness is making contingency plans for Ebola. I think we can all agree that the planning in Dallas was faulty and it now seems New York is facing the same thing. It would be really nice to know we are prepared here!
According to an article in the Lake Charles American Press the OEP has set a meeting for Thursday of participants from the Governor's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness and emergency responders from five area parishes. One of the issues that will be discussed is personal protective gear of first responders, another is communication. This follows a meeting this past Tuesday of all local hospitals, the state health department, the Calcasieu Parish School Board, Acadian Ambulance, the Coast Guard plus Immigrations and Customs Enforcement. It is comforting that they are all prepared.
