Breaking News: Perkins Murder Verdict Changed By Judge

At the sentencing of Bryce Perkins on Wednesday morning, Judge Ron Ware announced he has overturned the guilty verdict on the second degree murder charge and instead entered a guilty verdict on a manslaughter charge.

Perkins was sentenced to 30 years in prison for the manslaughter charge.

The family of Daniel Gueringer reportedly gasped when they heard the judges decision to change the verdict.

Judge Ware said he did not feel Perkins had specific intent to kill or cause great bodily harm to Gueringer.

The prosecutor in the case has said the state will appeal the ruling.
