A precautionary boil water advisory is in place until further notice for customers who are on the City of Sulphur Water System.

According to a notice on the city's website posted on January 6th, a water line valve was installed on West Crocker Street, resulting in "questionable microbiological quality" of the drinking water.

Water for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, or any consumption should be boiled for at least one full minute before use. The minute starts once the water is at a rolling boil.

No specific time for the lifting of the advisory is noted, but tests on samples of the water from the Louisiana Department of Health are expected back by Tuesday, January 9th.

According to KPLC, the city of Leesville is also under a boil water advisory until further notice, and officials are working to resolve the issue. No further information is available.
