Honduras. The Central American country once called the most dangerous nation in the world.  Now, I don't know if that's true. I've never been there. I'm sure there are lots of charming things about Honduras. But, to be honest, I don't think I'll vacation there.

And yet, Hopper.com -- one of those book-your-own-travel sites -- thinks that's where Louisiana residents want to go. They're basing it on search queries, so one way or another, a lot of people in Louisiana are trying to find out about Honduras.

So, why do you think Honduras is so popular in Louisiana? I have a theory. We have a lot of itinerant workers in South Louisiana, involved in construction and farming. A great deal of them come from Central America. We also send a lot of religious missionaries from Louisiana down to Central America. Do I think your average T-Boy is looking to party in Honduras? I doubt it.

Though, who knows. Depends on how hardcore you like to rock!
