I love horse racing. There is no greater thrill in sports than holding a ticket on a horse that crosses under the wire first. I have a six year streak of cashing tickets in all of the Triple Crown Races. That streak ended this year when I chose not to wager at all on the Kentucky Derby, The Preakness and The Belmont because of one horse.

That horse was the eventual Triple Crown winner American Pharoah. Coming out of the Arkansas Derby you could tell there were no horses that were going to give him any trouble. Once  he got past the large field in the Derby it was just a matter of health and time before he would eventually make history.

He reminded me of another horse that I remember from my youth, the great Secretariat. That was a horse. As far as I am concerned American Pharoah does not deserve to be mentioned in the same breath with Secretariat.

If you watch the video you will see just how badly a butt kicking Secretariat would have laid on American Pharoah in the final jewel of the Triple Crown. In case you couldn't tell Secretariat would have finished four and half seconds ahead of American Pharoah.
